In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
and the Lord answered me and set me free.
(Psalm 118:5)
I love how the Lord not only hears me when I call to Him, but He both answers and sets me free. He promises to free me from pain and worry, and from the distress that keeps me from living a life full of joy in His presence. Thank you Lord, that You hear the cry of my anxious heart. Thank you for your promise to answer me. Thank you for setting my heart free.
I would love for you to join me for Fresh Brewed Sundays. This is where we share a scripture with just simple insight. No heavy words necessary. Feel free to use the button in your post and link up below!

I too thank the Lord for hearing my cry and setting me free. He is so good to us, all we have to do is ask.
Blessings,

We but need to ask. He hears us and answers our cries. Isn’t that amazing?
Truly amazing my friend, that the God of the universe cares for me so much to answer my call!
Lovely choice of Scripture and photo Barbie… and Sherrey is right – we need to ask before He will hear our cry! Good reminder.

So encouraging…with you
Isn’t it beautiful that this verse is still relevant today? It wasn’t true just for the Psalmist but it’s true for you and I today…thousands of years after it was first penned. We are a blessed people. We truly serve a mighty and loving God!
That’s what I love about His Word. It’s so relevant today! Have a blessed week Diana!
It’s a beautiful thing that our worries are set free by a short conversation with God.
