Photo-a-day {August 21 – August 31}

Hi friends!  In just a couple of days it will be September.  I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. My kids will start school next week and I am busy getting myself ready to homeschool my 7th grader (while working full time).  Life has been busy, but I am striving to find beauty in every day.

I have participated in the photo-a-day challenges given by fatmumslim for about four months and have loved it.  Although I don’t feel I have much of an eye for creativity, I was up to the challenge.  However, the last two months have been extremely hard to remember to capture the photo, and just getting the post and link up on the blog has been hard as well.  I’ve been praying and asking the Lord what His plans are concerning this (because I always ask the Lord what He wants me to do as far as the blog).  I don’t want to keep striving for something that I’m not passionate about.

I have decided that I will not be participating in further challenges, at least for now. I am not extremely passionate yet about picture taking, although I want to be.  But until that day comes, it’s work and stress just to try and get it done. I would also like to dedicate another day for writing on my blog, so something has to give.

I have truly appreciated those of you who have linked up, or shared your photos through Facebook or Instagram.  You can still follow me in those two places and see what I do manage to capture.  It’s been fun!

Here is the only photo I took this week!

This was captured as hubby and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary at Cheesecake Factory.

How’s that for a pair of desserts!

If you’ve taken photos this week, even if they weren’t necessarily from the challenge, I would love you to link them up for my last photo link up, at least for this season.

  1. Barbie, happy anniversary! The desserts look amazing! Don’t worry about the photo challenge. I totally understand and have been there myself. While I do have a passion for photography it’s much harder for me to find time to follow a prompted list of pictures to take than it is to capture great, creative photo’s in the moment of life. Where God is clearly glorified in the shot. That’s what drives my passion with photography. I haven’t decided if I’ll push forward with Septembers photo challenge or not. I’m leaning towards not. I’d like to publish some photography related posts that are more how to or inspirational. So we’ll see. :)

    I’m looking forward to reading more of your beautiful godly wisdom here, friend.

  2. Hi there, Barbie! I love September- Fall, WInter! Love that picture, too. Did you choose a Bible Curriculum yet? I did purchase the Child Training Kit, so will let you know how it goes. I just love the thought of topically getting into His word and hoping my hub and girl will take part of the process of making the hilights etc! Well, happy homeschooling, fall and happy prioritizing ( I am working on this for Fall) and receiving His grace daily. Love you, Dawn

    • Hi Dawn. Since my daughter sings in the prayer room, and we sing scripture I will have her doing that, reading her daily bible, a devotional and working through Kay Arthur’s “How To Study Your Bible For Kids”. Should be a good start! I feel organized for the schooling, but not much else. I really need to find some time to purge and organize before the holidays arrive!

  3. Thank you Rosann. You may still see a photo pop up on my blog, but I will have a story to tell with it! Have a great weekend.
