Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8)
I have been pondering this verse. God is love. I struggle with the concept of a God who loves me unconditionally. Call it poor upbringing, or life’s circumstances. I’ve had a warped view of the Father’s heart of love for me since I became His at the age of 21. Last week I heard a message about this love called AGAPE and it is quickly changing my view of God and how He loves me. God doesn’t just love me, nor does he just have affection for me. Love is His character. He IS love. He can never be anything less than love. Today, I am choosing to look into the face of Agape – the God of Love, the God who is love. For when I can truly see into the face of the One who loves me, then I will truly know Him.

Many years ago I heard Paul Yonggi Cho speak. He said that we try to over complicate Christianity. It really just comes down to a simple statement…God is love. Hmmmm.
