Do you know that I am your Protector? Do you believe that I am for you, not against you? I see the walls that you have put up, all around you, as a means to protect yourself from further hurt and pain. I know you’ve experienced disappointment, pain and loss in your life, but I want to remind you that through all of it, I never left your side. When you cried in the darkness of the night, and you felt as if no one understood, I was there. I caught every tear and placed it in a bottle.
Do you believe that I can once again turn your mourning into dancing? Do you believe that I desire to take your weeping and turn it into joy. I promise you, JOY truly does come in the morning.
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy. (Psalm 30:11)
If I am to fill you with the fullness of Joy that you desire, you must first trust me enough to let your guard down. Can we begin to work together to tear down those walls that you have put over your heart? This protective barrier was good for a season, but I desire to bring you through the pain of your past into a future filled with hope and joy.
I promise you that I will be with you through the tearing down process. This too may be painful, but know that these walls will serve as monuments, places of remembrance in your life where you dared to allow yourself to feel joy once again. And don’t worry, I am not breaking out the sledge hammer. We can chisel away together, slowly, carefully. And once the walls have come down, we can begin to rebuild and strengthen these places in your heart.
Remember, I am your strength. I am your Strong Tower. Run to me. I will keep you safe. I promise.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
