I am so grateful for God’s Word. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite scriptures through the alphabet. I am going to use the first scripture that pops into my head for each letter. I am sure I will have to dig for a few of them.
Here we go!
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
“Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
“Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young–a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.”
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
…..”I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matthew 4:4)
Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.
Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
(1 Cor. 10:13)
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Quench not the Spirit.
(1 Thessalonians 5:19)
Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
(1 Chronicles 16:12)
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people.
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
You have preserved my life because I am innocent; you have brought me into your presence forever.
Zion will be restored by justice; those who repent will be revived by righteousness.
This was fun!
Will you share with me in the comments a scripture that you are thankful for today?
Praying you have a blessed and beautiful Thanksgiving!
