I got away with my best girlfriend this weekend. We left town and headed to Redding, CA. Why Redding? Well, we love Bethel Church, and we had a place to stay for free. Other than the heat (which I am told wasn’t that bad at 92 degrees), we had a great time. I took a lot of photos with my Smartphone. I will try not to overwhelm you!
On Saturday, we drove down to Whiskeytown Lake. We couldn’t get in and park. It cost money and we didn’t want to spend money just to take pictures. But here is what I captured from the outskirts:
On our way back from the lake, we stopped at a “ghost town” of sorts, which was once where Shasta City stood, an old mining town just outside of Redding.
The general store reminded me of Little House on the Prairie, which I watched with my grandmother.
On Sunday night, we walked across the Sundial Bridge.
On Monday morning before we drove home, our beautiful hostess made us her famous Dutch Babies!
I drank more coffee this weekend than I have in a couple of months. But I just couldn’t help visiting Dutch Brothers!
It was so nice to get away and enjoy being adults. Now, it’s back to the real world of work and homeschooling, which brings out the kid in me.
