Inspired Blogger: Wanda of The Watered Soul

Today I am thrilled to introduce Wanda of The Watered Soul.  I have been following Wanda’s blog for a couple of years.  She has an intense passion for the Word of God and communicates His truth in love.

Without further adieu, meet Wanda!

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Wow you get right down to the hard question first, Barbie. For some reason choosing a few words to adequately describe myself often seems like the hardest task. We all tend to carry many labels and I’m no different. A few of mine are: daughter, sister, friend, aunt, manager, and coworker.  I’m a directionally-challenged introvert living in Arkansas. By day I’m a case management coordinator and in my free time I’m a blogger, reader, and CSS and HTML digger. (Yes I happen to like digging around on the backside of blogs).  Guess you can say I have always been a bit of nerd.

How long have you been blogging and how/why did you start?

I have been blogging since Feb 2010. I sort of stumbled into blogging and when I typed out the first few posts, I honestly had NO idea anyone would be interested in reading what I had to say. Blogging was a way for me to make sense of my desert wanderings. However, blogging has been a beautiful surprise for me and place that I have found a great sense of community.

What is the purpose of your blog?

The purpose of The Watered Soul is to provide a place for others to find refreshment in and through God’s Word. I hope to share lessons from my spiritual journey that may encourage, enlighten, and empower others in some way.

What do you most enjoy about blogging?

My blog tends to focus on three b’s: books, blogging, and the Bible. All things I happen to love very much. I love how blogging has given me the opportunity to connect with so many people across the globe. The gift of blogging is it allows us to travel to places we may never see on this side of heaven.

What are you passionate about?

One of the things I’m most passionate about is education and empowerment. I believe the opportunity to learn more is always available.

Who or what inspires you?

There are so many people that have served as great inspirations but one that immediately comes to mind is a cousin of mine, who has a severe form of cerebral palsy. Despite his disabilities, he has not allowed that to be a deterrent from reaching towards his dreams. He has successfully graduated college, started a Bible study chapter for individuals with disability, and is even a minister now. He is a true source of inspiration. When viewing my troubles in light of his daily challenges, I am encouraged to keep pressing.

Tell us something random about yourself.

I’m a serial tab opener. At any given time I tend to have more than 5 or 6  (more like 10) tabs opened on my Internet browser. There is always just one more thing I want to check out and I’m afraid that I might not remember how to get back to the page.

Will you share with us one of your favorite blog posts and what you love about it?

I would say one of my favorite would be Standing on the Crux of Eve because it served as a great reminder to me that I’m not relegated to having a new start at only certain times of the year. With only a few months left in 2013, it’s easy to start looking back with some regrets and thinking about all the things I had hope to accomplish but still have not checked off my list. But in rereading that old post, I am reminded again that specific days on the calendar are not the only times I have to get a fresh new start because with God things can change at any time.

Friends, will you head over to Wanda’s place to say hello and have a look around.  You will be blessed!

WandaWanda is a single southern girl who often finds herself lost in a good book. When she’s not busy working, she enjoys spending her free time with family, blogging, and sipping on a cold coca-cola, although she has found that nothing quite satisfies her thirst quite like God.
