Inspired Blogger: Mary Bonner

Today, I am so excited to introduce you to Mary Bonner.  I have been very blessed to have gotten to know Mary through blogging.  She has always been so encouraging, and what I love most about her is she is real.  She openly and honestly shares her heart, the joys of life intermixed with the challenges, and she has a huge passion to encourage the hearts of women, as do I.

Without further adieu, meet Mary Bonner

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m 53, married for 30 years with one living child.  Six and a half years ago we moved from the Midwest and our home of 25 years to the east coast for my husband’s job.

How long have you been blogging and how/why did you start?

I published my first post on Dec. 1, 2009…I guess that makes it 4 years!  I started blogging as a means of keeping a journal; a means of documenting what I hear from the Lord.

What is the purpose of your blog?

I am in the process of discerning the purpose of my blog.  Originally, I envisioned strictly a faith-based blog with devotional type postings.  However, in the last 6 months I am feeling a tug from the Lord to change the focus slightly.  I want to encourage women and mothers – especially Moms of older teen/young adult children.

What do you most enjoy about blogging?

The interaction with other bloggers is probably the thing I enjoy the most.  I never thought the internet could be the means of meeting real, genuine friends.

What are you passionate about?

I am in my sweet spot when I am helping others, especially women.  I love encouraging women in their role as wives and mothers.

Who or what inspires you?

Hmmm…I wish I had some wise answer to this question!

Tell us something random about yourself.

I am the 6the child in a family of 7 and there are 8 years between child number 5 and me.

Will you share with us one of your favorite posts and what you love about it?

This was hard for me, but I like this post.  I like it because I believe that tears are a window to the soul.  They are happy, sad, cleansing, joyful, excited…so many emotions all in one teardrop.

Friends, will you head over to Mary’s blog to say hello?  You will be so glad that you did!

mary_150Mary was born in California, raised in Arkansas and graduated from high school in Indiana. She then met and married her husband in St. Louis, Missouri. Mary considers herself a Midwestern girl and believes there is no better place in this country to raise a family. She has been married for 30 years with one living child.  Learning that God has a plan that we often cannot see, as well as learning to trust Him with that plan is something Mary works on every day. She works hard to find the music in the mayhem and the beauty in the ordinary. Mary loves coffee, wine and chocolate – not necessarily in that order, and loves to entertain and throw a party. After 30+ years, she has finally accepted that she is OK just like she is.  You can find Mary at Marybonner.net and on Twitter at @themarybonner.

Me, too! I’m glad I’ve met you there.

Didn’t know you were raised in Arkansas. We were practically neighbors (I was raised/still live in Alabama. :)
