About Me

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog.  My name is Barbie (short for Barbara) and I live in Northern California.  First and foremost, I am a child of the King of Kings and have been marked by the love of a relentless God who will never stop pursuing me.  I have captured His heart and He delights in me.  I live an imperfect life, but I know an absolutely perfect God. It is only by His grace that I am given the strength to accomplish all that I do each day.

I have been married 20+ years to an amazing man and we have four beautiful children who pursue the Lord passionately in worship and prayer.  My oldest daughter (21) just got married in June.  I have a son (18) who graduated high school this year and leads worship in the house of prayer.  My youngest daughter (12) helps to lead worship in our Children’s Equipping Center and also does devotionals in the prayer room.  My youngest son (9) loves to pray and play with legos.

(My beautiful kids and my new son-in-love!)

I work full time as a Pastoral Administrator and assist in the Children’s Equipping Center at Convergence House of Prayer.  I also just began homeschooling my 12yo full time this year and am learning to navigate this new path.  Life is busy, but I am learning to slow down and notice the beauty that God has placed all around me.

I believe that each day is a freshly brewed gift from the Lord and that He has hidden treasures for us to find!  I trust that as I share my life with you, you will find rest and peace in knowing that a loving God holds you in the palm of His hand. He adores you!  Some of my passions are: Worship, the Prayer Room, Coffee, reading, writing, painting and spending time with family and friends.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon!

Great blog Barbie.  It’s so neat to see the journeys the Lord has taken us on since we met over 20 years ago.  I often think of you guys this time of year knowing you are celebrating another year of marriage, just like us!  Thanks for your encouragement on my blog.  I really appreciate the kind words. :)

  21. Jacomien Botes says:

I am going through a tough time at work.. I feel that my boss does not respect me and I cannot handle his anger outbursts. When it happens I feel numb and out of my body. For my work I had to travel for about 6 hours – plenty of time to cry my heart out. The night after all the tears I had a dream about God’s hidden treasures for us. In the dream I opened a box made out of tin. Inside was small papers with open spaces to fill in. I was very very excited and spoke to Jesus:. I told Him: “I know that this is from you – a gift for me!” I know that He absolutely loves me. I am a playtherapist and would like to have my own practise, but I am too afraid to take the financial risk to give up my work. Please pray for me for the right decision.

    • Jacemien, I am sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for sharing a bit of your struggle with me. I will be praying for you in your job situation. God knows the desires of your heart and I am praying that at the right time you will see your heart’s desire fulfilled.

  22. Barbie,

You are a gift to the blogging community!

    • Thank you Jane! I am thankful for you too, my friend. So thankful that I stumbled upon your site. Looking forward to our journey together.

  23. Barbie,
