Photo-a-day {August 21 – August 31}

Hi friends!  In just a couple of days it will be September.  I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. My kids will start school next week and I am busy getting myself ready to homeschool my 7th grader (while working full time).  Life has been busy, but I am striving to find beauty in every day.

I have participated in the photo-a-day challenges given by fatmumslim for about four months and have loved it.  Although I don’t feel I have much of an eye for creativity, I was up to the challenge.  However, the last two months have been extremely hard to remember to capture the photo, and just getting the post and link up on the blog has been hard as well.  I’ve been praying and asking the Lord what His plans are concerning this (because I always ask the Lord what He wants me to do as far as the blog).  I don’t want to keep striving for something that I’m not passionate about.

I have decided that I will not be participating in further challenges, at least for now. I am not extremely passionate yet about picture taking, although I want to be.  But until that day comes, it’s work and stress just to try and get it done. I would also like to dedicate another day for writing on my blog, so something has to give.

I have truly appreciated those of you who have linked up, or shared your photos through Facebook or Instagram.  You can still follow me in those two places and see what I do manage to capture.  It’s been fun!

Here is the only photo I took this week!

This was captured as hubby and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary at Cheesecake Factory.

How’s that for a pair of desserts!

If you’ve taken photos this week, even if they weren’t necessarily from the challenge, I would love you to link them up for my last photo link up, at least for this season.

Photo-a-day: {August 15 – August 20}

Well, another week of the photo-a-day challenge has come and gone.  Life seems to be moving too fast for me to keep up like I want to.  But I am determined that one of these months, I am going to take a photo every day.  My friend Rosann decided to post just one of her favorites each week.  And my friend Kelli posted a collage last time, which I think is a great idea.  If you are having trouble keeping up, fell free to change it up a bit.

This week, I’ve taken the collage route, and only have four pictures to show you.

Day 16 – Food

I love PB&J and this was me eating my lunch in the car.

Day 17 – Faces

I took my kids to a local thrift store.   My son locked our keys in the car so while we waited for dad, they decided to get some exercise on.  They made silly faces to entertain me and let me know how they really felt.

Day 20 – Today

I started this day out with coffee, like every day.  The pretty coffee art is compliments of my son.

Day 21 – Cool

I saw this daisy peeking through the weeds at my friends house.  I thought it was pretty cool.

There you have it.  See, it’s really not hard.  Link up your photos, collages or single captures below.

Photo-a-day: {August 9 – August 14}

Here we are in week two of the August photo-a-day challenge.  Thanks to fatmumslim, we get to participate each month and show off our creativity.  If you would like to join us next week, here are the prompts:

 Here are my photos for this week:

Day 9 – Messy

Yes, this is my desk at work.  I need to clean it, but it’s a little overwhelming.

Day 10 – Ring

I am a Lord of the Rings fan.  I could watch these movies every week!

Day 11 – Purple

Although this is typically referred to as a “red onion”, the inside was screaming purple to me!

Day 12 – Spoon

Well, I didn’t have anything creative for a spoon.

Day 13 – Simple

I am really enjoying this album right now.

Day 14 – Arrow

So technically, this picture is for tomorrow (Wednesday).  I didn’t have any pictures of arrows, so I pulled up this scripture verse, which is one of my favorite promises.

So now it’s your turn.  Show me what you’ve got this week.  Link up below and be sure to visit the person who linked up before or after you.
